Privacy Policy

Last updated October 20, 2026.

This is the privacy policy of CC Slaughters Portland (“CC Slaughters”, “we”, “us”), the nightclub at 219 NW Davis St, Portland, OR 97209, for this website and for the email and text message updates you can sign up for here. It says what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and who else handles it.

The short version: we collect only what you give us through a form on this site, we use it for the reason you gave it, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

What we collect and why

The mailing list (email and text updates). If you join the list we keep the email address and/or mobile number you gave us, which of the two you asked for, when you signed up and confirmed, and whether you have unsubscribed. We use these only to send you the updates you asked for: what’s on at the club, specials, and occasional picks from Portland’s queer community.

If you sign up for text messages we also ask for your date of birth, to check that you are 21 or older. We check it at that moment and do not keep it. We do keep the date and time of the agreement to receive texts and which wording of it was shown.

Forms. When you send us a form (a general question, a hosting or booking request, lost and found, a security report, feedback, an accessibility request, a photo removal request, an event suggestion), what you typed is emailed to the staff who handle it. Hosting requests are also kept on our server so we can follow them through; they are deleted 12 months after the request or the event.

Job applications. An application and its resume are emailed to the people who hire and kept on our server for 6 months, then deleted automatically.

Tickets. When you reserve tickets we keep your name, email address, how many tickets, and whether you have arrived, to send you your ticket, know who is on the list at the door, and tell you if a night is cancelled. Your ticket’s link and the code in its QR are random keys that only you receive; we keep scrambled versions of them, not the keys. If you choose to, you can also give a mobile number (with a tick box agreeing to texts) to be texted when you reserve and if your tickets are cancelled; we delete it once the night has passed. Reply STOP to any text to stop them. If you add your ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, the pass is made by our server and handed to your phone; Apple or Google keep it under their own privacy policies.

The 21+ agreement you sign with tickets. To reserve tickets you sign our 21+ and no-refund agreement by typing your full legal name and giving your date of birth. With your signature we keep your date of birth, your email address, the ticket’s night, number and price, the exact wording you agreed to, the time you signed, and your internet (IP) address and browser as your device reported them. We keep this to show that the agreement was signed if a refund or chargeback is disputed, and use it for nothing else. Only the owners can open it. Your ticket email has a copy of what you signed. The door staff see the name you signed with, to check it against your ID.

Food orders from the phone menu. We ask for a first name, to call out when your food is ready, plus what you ordered and any note for the kitchen, and an email address, to tell you when the order is received and when it is ready and to reach you if there’s a problem with it. If you choose to, you can also give a mobile number (with a tick box agreeing to texts) to be told by text. We use them for nothing else, and delete them from the order once it is picked up or cancelled (or after 12 hours at the latest). A scrambled version is kept for 90 days only to limit how many orders one address or number can make in a day. Reply STOP to any text to stop them. To stop one phone tying up the kitchen, your browser keeps a random number that it sends with an order (not linked to you), and we keep a scrambled version of it until the order is picked up or cancelled. Your order’s email and page carry a pickup code (a QR code) that the kitchen scans to hand your food to the right person; it only identifies the order.

Food ordered at the bar. When you order food at the bar, the bar’s card and register system (Clover) passes the order to our kitchen screen. If the bar has your email address on your order (or you give it to staff for this), we email you a link to follow the order and its pickup code, and remove the address from the order once it’s picked up. If you agree to a text and the bar adds your mobile number to your order, we text you the same link instead or as well (reply STOP to any text to stop them).

Payments. This site never takes or stores card details. Food ordered online, and tickets, are paid on the payment company’s own secure page (Clover, the bar’s own card system; or Stripe or Square for tickets), and what you enter there is handled under that company’s privacy policy. We give the company your first name, your email address and what you’re paying for, and it tells us when the payment has gone through, so we can send your order to the kitchen or your ticket to your email.

Performers. Amateur performers (such as go-go dancers) sign our performer release on their phone. We keep what they give us (full name, stage name, date of birth, email, and optionally a mobile number and an emergency contact), the release they signed with their drawn signature, and the time, IP address and browser it was signed from, as a PDF on our own server. The owners get a copy by email and the performer gets their own copy. Only the owners can see these records.

Staff time cards. People who work at CC Slaughters sign in to our dashboard to clock in and out, see their schedule and ask for time off. When someone clocks in or out on their own phone, the phone’s location is read once, at that moment, to check they are at the bar, and kept with that clock-in or clock-out (with the time, IP address and device). The site never follows anyone’s location at any other time, and the browser asks before sharing it. Time cards, schedules, requests and every change to them are kept for the owners and managers; each person sees their own.

Photos. We take photos at events and publish some of them here. If you are in one and want it taken down, use the photo removal form.

Technical information. Like any website, ours receives your IP address and browser details when you load a page. Our own server’s log records the time and the page or action requested, not your IP address. We do not use outside analytics services, advertising networks or tracking cookies. The site remembers a couple of things in your own browser so pages load properly (for example, which holiday look the site is wearing); that never leaves your device. Staff who sign in to manage the site get a login cookie, and the kitchen’s tablet keeps one so it stays on the order board; visitors get neither. To keep the staff dashboard safe, every attempt to sign in to it is logged: the time, the username typed, whether it worked, the IP address, the browser and kind of device, and the approximate place the address is in (city and country, from Cloudflare). Passwords are never logged. Only the owners can see this log.

Searching the site. What you type in the search box is used to answer that search and is not kept. Pages are searched in your own browser; the words are sent to our own server only to look through the menus, events and Queer PDX lists, and our server’s log records that a search happened, not what was searched for.

Visitor counts. Our own server counts visits to this site, so we know how many people visit, which pages they read, the name of the website they followed a link from (for example, instagram.com, never the address of the page), whether they use a phone, tablet or computer, and their country (as Cloudflare reports it). We keep only the daily totals. To count each visitor once a day, your IP address and browser details are used for a moment, mixed with a secret code that changes every day and is never stored, and then thrown away. We use no cookies for this, store nothing in your browser, and cannot follow anyone from one day to the next or across other websites. No outside company is involved. If your browser has Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control switched on, your visits are not counted at all.

Text messages

Text updates aren't being offered at the moment. The list is by email only for now. What's written here about text messages applies if and when we offer them.

  • We send text updates only to people who asked for them on this site, agreed to receive them, and confirmed from the phone itself. Until a number is confirmed, the only texts it gets from us are requests to confirm (at most three in a week) and answers to anything it texts us.
  • We do not sell or share your mobile number, your text-message opt-in or your consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, other than the companies that deliver our messages for us (our text-message provider and the mobile carriers).
  • You can stop at any time by replying STOP to any text from us, or from your personal link. Reply HELP for help. Our system acts on those words (and on a request to stop put another way). What you text to that number is not kept by us and no person reads it. We keep only a record that a message arrived and, if you asked to stop, your number, so that we never text it again.
  • The full terms are in our Text Message Terms.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of companies to run the site and deliver messages. They process information for us and not for their own marketing:

  • Cloudflare carries the site’s traffic, protects it from attacks, and runs the “are you human” check on our forms. To do that it sees your IP address and browser details.
  • Resend delivers our email.
  • Twilio delivers our text messages, through the mobile carriers, and keeps its own record of the texts sent and received.
  • YouTube (Google) hosts the videos shown on a few pages. They are embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which holds back its cookies until you play a video.

Everything else, including the mailing list and anything you send through a form, is stored on a server we operate ourselves. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our guests and staff. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

  • Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. A sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted 30 days after it was last asked to confirm. If you unsubscribe or reply STOP, we keep the address or number with a note that you left. A number that replied STOP is not texted again unless that phone texts START. If your email address is entered in the sign-up form again, it is sent a request to confirm (at most three in a week) and nothing more unless you confirm.
  • Hosting requests: 12 months. Job applications: 6 months.
  • Ticket reservations: 90 days after the night. Food orders: 90 days.
  • Signed 21+ agreements: 2 years after signing (refund disputes can come long after the night).
  • Visitor counts (totals only, nothing about any person): 25 months.
  • Performer releases: for as long as we may use photos or videos taken under them (the owners can delete one at any time).
  • Staff time cards, schedules and time-off requests (with the location taken at each clock-in and clock-out): kept as payroll records, for as long as the law asks employers to keep them.
  • The dashboard’s sign-in log: 12 months (the owners can choose between 30 days and 2 years).
  • Other forms: in the staff mailbox they were sent to, for as long as they are needed to deal with your request.
  • Anything staff delete from the site’s dashboard is held for 30 days in case of a mistake, then removed for good.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of any email, by replying STOP to any text, or from Manage Your Subscription.
  • Ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us.
